Premature ejaculation is probably the most prevalent sexual complaint of men. It has a negative impact on the quality of life of both partners and may lead to lowered self-esteem and sexual confidence. In order to define an objective and reproducible method of measuring ejaculation time, the intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT), defined as the time between the start of vaginal intromission and the start of intravaginal ejaculation, was introduced by Waldinger et al. in 1994. This unique application, iELT, is an objective and practical way to measure the ejaculation time.
